Man! it's been a while since i've written a blog! and man! --that's a terrible way to start one!
Whitney & i have been thinking a lot about Japan... and praying. As we fumble around listening to and for the voice of The Lord we understand that we need to make plans and steps and allow the Lord to guide them. Today i coined it "Japlanning". Our Japlan so far, then, is to fly to the Land of the Rising Sun on one-way tickets in July. We'll be working at the Montana School of Missions until it's graduation in May, and then Whitney's only sister is having a baby in June!
When we get there, our focus will be the language, the language, the language! You cannot speak to someone's heart unless you use their heart language. Jesus has done us such a kindness by sending Izumi Mido to the School of Missions. She will graciously be helping us study Japanese over the next few months. The other huge blessing with being at the School, is that we get to glean personally from so many hard core missionaries before we launch out. God is kind.
The new tidbit that we get to "Japlan" for is that Whitney is carrying the newest little cathcart in her womb! The baby is not due until September so it looks like the little one will be born abroad! Many things to plan, like where to live, where to have the baby, a car to drive, what to bring, and which color jet ski to buy. (one of those may be a joke)
In all of it, we are trusting Jesus through this verse.
A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.
Proverbs 16:9
